Hi, Phillip Chesney here with English Interviews. For today’s tip we’re going to talk about how to close an interview, so the questions you should be asking the interviewer. Let’s take a look at the first one.
Number one – What do you think are the most important qualities for someone to excel or do well in this role? So, this is one you should definitely ask.
Number two – Could you walk me through a typical day in this position? What is it like? What can be expected?
Number three – What is expected from this role in the first 30, 60, and 90 days?
Number four – Could you please describe the company culture? What is it like to work here at the company?
Number five – What is the career path for this position? In the next two or three years, where can I be if I really work hard in this position?
Number six – What do you like best about working at this company?
Number seven – Do you have any hesitations about my qualifications? Would you like me to clarify anything?
Number eight – What are the next steps in the interview process?
Now remember, you don’t necessarily need to ask all of these questions. That’s actually a lot of questions, so focus on maybe three or four. The ones that you deem most important, ask them, and try to get a feeling about what it’s like to work at this company. Remember, an interview is a two-way street. It’s not just one party asking the questions. It’s both parties asking questions and answering, so feel free to ask questions and feel free to learn more about the position. I hope that you liked today’s short tip and that you will be able to put it into practice. See you next Tuesday for more interview tips.
